Need a screenplay? Want to make a movie, but you're too busy, too writer's-blocked (or too lazy) to write your own script for it right now? Or maybe you just need a good idea or some good dialogue to get your mind going creatively? Do you just need somewhere to start from?
Whatever the reason, a whole bunch of people asked me to create this section and give them some material to use. So here are dozens of quality unproduced screenplays that you are free to steal and use on your own, as long as the original writer is credited (and given a copy of the production when it is finished). Contact us here at Fastforward.
Hell, even if you're not in the market for a script, this stuff is pretty fun to just sit and read. Might even inspire you.
If these are such quality screenplays, why hasn't anyone produced them? Well, a lot of us take college writing courses, or write just to write, without any intention of ever producing the scripts ourselves, but trying to make them as good as possible on the page. Or sometimes you write two screenplays in a year and only have time to produce one of them, and the other one, which might even be the better one, is forgotten as you want to move on to different subject matter. Or the actor they wrote it for is no longer available, or the right props and sets can't be made. Another reason is old age ... there's no way we'd produce a script we wrote 3, 4, 5, 6 years ago, even if it was good! And yes, there are lots of short throwaway scripts that are written when someone says, "you know what would make an amazing idea for a film?" and they write that idea down, and tell some people the idea, but never intended to use it themselves.
Finally, we're telling our ideas to you. If you need some quick inspiration, here's the place to go. Hey, if your movie's good enough, the original writer might even be flattered. And if it's really good, we'll want to put it up here at Fastforward!
