Memories of Camp Fastforward 4!

Sometimes, life is just too good to be true. From January 15-19, 2004, we assembled in Los Angeles once again, for the five-day celebration that was Camp Fast Forward 4 (or Slumberfest 2005), our third official FF get-together and a party of great magnificence. Easily the best Camp Fastforward yet. Present were Lisa Renley (formerly of Blanc Screen Cinema) and her friend Marjorie Peer, Mike Stoklasa and Rich Evans from Chicago's GMP Pictures, Jesse Maddox and Erik Anderson from Empire Excape/Dislocated Boner, musicman John Brugmann, Striped Hat's master DP Rob Kraetsch, and of course myself and Transcend Entertainment's Jason Gutierrez. SCFX's Amy Mehlhorn also stopped by. Over at the message boards, you can read quite a few posts about the alcohol-fueled excitement of the weekend. We showed a bunch of movies, including some long lame ones (involving ghosts and gorillas), and Rob Kraetsch impressed us with his DP reel. I showed a bunch of exclusive clips from Gods of Los Angeles and Ghostbusted 3, which you can now view at this site - check the entries right after this one. We also shot new scenes for Ghostbusted 3, featuring Rich Evans and Lisa Renley as news reporters, and a Stoklasa-edited documentary about Camp Fast Forward 4 may be forthcoming. For a huge series of photos from this fondly-remembered weekend, visit our library here.

Jonason Ho presents The FF I.Q. Test!

"10. Carl came to Fred's house to borrow Fred's record player. Ooops, Fred isn't home! Can you help Carl find the record player?" It's always good news when Jonason Ho creates something for FF, and today we're proud to tease your brain with his latest creation, The FF I.Q. Test! Ten deceptively simple questions will separate the smart people from the morons. How well will you score? With the ladies, I mean. Your score on this test is probably meaningless. Come to think of it, if you're smart, the ladies probably won't like you as much, thinking you're a nerd. Maybe you should try to score poorly on this IQ test. Who knows. Anyway, click here or else: it's Jonason Ho's FF I.Q. Test!

Ghostbusted 3 clip!

Gods of Los Angeles: Lily meets Clifford clip

Gods of Los Angeles: Lily meets Clifford CLIP (Quicktime, 11.6 MB) As seen at Camp FF4, this is an exclusive clip from Garrett's upcoming feature, Gods of Los Angeles. In this clip from early in the film, Lily (Cori Haisler) meets Clifford (David Maddox), whose girlfriend has just broken up with him. Clifford, needing to assert himself as a man, has said that the next girl he sees, he's going to ask out, and he's not going to take no for an answer. Lily, an innocent-looking girl with some emotional problems, is the next girl he sees. So, Clifford comes up to her, and, well, watch the scene.

Gods of Los Angeles: dinner scene clip
Gods of Los Angeles: the dinner scene (25.1 MB, Quicktime) Another exclusive clip from Garrett's upcoming feature, Gods of Los Angeles. In this scene, Clifford (David Maddox) has dinner with the mysterious Martha (Julie Kenworth) ... who has a couple of things to say about the way Clifford talks to women. The scene features cinematography by Jason Gutierrez and makeup by Rebecca Hong. It was written, directed and edited by Garrett Gilchrist. Gods of Los Angeles is expected to be released late this summer.

Gods of Los Angeles: Paper Dolls clip
Gods of Los Angeles: Paper Dolls clip (Quicktime, 12.4 MB) Also seen at Camp FF4, this is the third and last of our exclusive clips from Garrett's upcoming feature, Gods of Los Angeles. In this clip, Shy Phil (Davi Kutz) has started to write a song about two paper dolls ... a song that may hold some meaning for Bruce (David Ashe) and Lily (Cori Haisler). With Katherine Hoagland as Rhonda. With thanks to Jason Gutierrez and Colin Brown. Written, directed, edited and with cinematography by Garrett Gilchrist.
